SE PA ID please

my first thought was that this was a young laetiporus
but upon closer inspection...

it was growing on the roots of a nearby tree stump in SE PA near the edge of a lake

the surface was finely hairy
there was no gills or pores underneath (!)
i cut into it and it was fibrous and pure white inside (reminded me of laetiporus or meripilus)
slight, pleasant odor

i want to call this abortive chicken of the woods

and then there's these specimens
at a distance, i thought i'd found pleurotus of some type
but these guys have pores instead of gills
and they are all wonky and wavy and weird
each one is the size of a sandwich plate

the underside:

enhance (deckard voice - [on] off):

finally, in the field i thought i had a xerula radicata, took a quick pic
when i got home, it hit me this has a ring and the cap is scaly
it is three apples tall

long time no see, everyone

The third one is a Macrolepiota species.

Regarding the other two, southern polypores can be hard.  More pics would help, especially pics of the underside of 1, and a pic that is more zoomed out.  Also note what kind of wood it is on, and if they stain any kind of color.

RE: #1

Here's another photo.

I didn't photograph the underside. There's no pore surface. I did collect a piece of it and I just now looked at it, it looks exactly like the top only less hairy. No bruising. Tribble of the woods?

I can't say what wood the first was on, it was the barest of stumps.

The second was on a dead log. I am just starting to learn how to ID living trees; I'm hopeless with decaying logs.

Are you sure the first one lacks pores on the underside?  It looks a little like Abortiporus.

I think I must have missed the pore surface when I cut off the edges. It certainly does seem to be abortiporus. Matches Kuo's descripition and looks like his first photo.
Thanks a lot. You ARE great!

Yeah jackalope, you need to post a whole lot more! The second one looks like Trametes hirsuta to me, but I've got to make a disclaimer that ALL Trametes look like T. hirsuta to me...

Thanks, fellas.

I'll read up on trametes hirsuta. I don't remember it being hairy, but it was showing its age - a bit of hair loss maybe.

I've been really lazy about bringing the DSLR out and about. I've got a bunch of iPhone pics that I've been dumping onto instagram: http://instagram.com/ghostfather

^ melanophyllum haematospermum?

I'll certainly post more frequently. Been in lurk mode. Raining like crazy, so I'll be hitting the trails in the next day or two.
