Curious as to what these are, I am guessing none are edible or at least none look like anything I'd want to eat. Thanks for any help.
Pic 1 Habitat:Base of rotting tree, ohio, I believe is hard wood, probably Oak.
Gills: no gills but white-ish under
Stem: no stem cone shaped
Cap: red, brown, white, slimy looking
Pic 2
Habitat: Found in flower bed, Ohio
Gills: No Gills that I can see, looks round and puffy, brown
Stem: Gnarly, brown, short
Cap: Brown with darker brown spots, about 3/4"
Pic 3 and 4
Habitat: Growing at base of tree, growing on north side of tree, Ohio, in a park with mainly hard woods such as oak and walnut.
Gills: Looks porous or even solid. White-ish.
Stem: White
Cap: Slimy looking, redish, orange, brownish. Some of the ones on the tree have warts?

I think #1 looks like reishi, also. Was there wood/root under it? There was another thread recently with reishi popping up from root in the middle of someone's lawn. They're not so pretty in that config.
-------------------- "Shrub, 30-90 cm. Leaves 2.5-) 4-9 cm, sessile or amplexicaul, broadly ovate to ovate-oblong, obtuse or rounded to subapiculate or subacute, when crushed not smelling of goats." "The initial quake was a 6.6 but fairly shallow. I felt it as a prolonged up and down vibration followed by a jolt forward and then to the left, like square dancing."

Yes there was wood or bark under it or around it. We just removed a rotted tree that was lying there about a month ago. The reishi? was growing just outside the trees in the yard. We just moved here in April and it seems there are different types of mushrooms popping up all over the place since spring. The yard and woods seem to stay quite damp all summer. I find them very interesting and love this site.

Hey no problem I used to live in an area where they would pop up all over the place out of nowhere! They are very cool looking when they are young!

If you haven't already, harvest and dry that reishi and make some good for you tea...

I don't think the fourth photo are reishis. They don't droop/extend downwards like those do.

At the top of the pic looks like they do... Perhaps it's just overgrowth???
