Habitat: Found growing on pine, in the woods off of a trail. Medium sized lake near by.
Gills: Tan gills, attached.
Stem: Small/short stem, solid stem.
Cap: Very flat, about the size of a gatorade bottle cap (sorry for lack of real measurement) Darkish brown in color.
Spore print color: Did not do spore print, will if requested.
Bruising: Bruised a "blue-ish" black at first and eventually turned very black
Other information: Cap felt similiar to fingertips, smooth yet texturized although, no grooves.

Maybe Lactarius sp. If you break a portion of the gills off, does the exposed area let out a fluid?

Could be a Phylloporus as well.

This one definitely needs a print. I could see a dried out Gomphidius or a Lactarius. Lol.

alright, i've never done a spore print, but its now dried to shit, is the spore print still going to be better? and the picture of the gills probably wouldn't come out too well. Yes, fluid omes out, a very thick, no matter how dry the shroom is, when broken a very wet gunk comes out.
edit: I'd have to go back and find another in order to make a spore print/take better pictures. i apologize for the lack of quality

found that site after posting about the spore print, i plan on going back to that trail after this upcoming field op im going on, there was a mind blowing amount of different mushrooms... i'm just not sure how to bring a bag of mushrooms back to my barracks room on a military base
was thinking just taking pictures while out there and then putting them in separate bags labeled in a backpack... spore print might not be possible in that case as well though:/

You can print in separate bags, but you have to put them in the bags so they don't move around much, so the caps face down and drop spores, in the same place all the time. For some species it doesn't matter they just make so many spores that you'll be able to see them no matter how they sit in the bag, but most need to sit in the same place relative to what you're printing them on.
