I-Doser?
    #18762871 - 08/27/13 08:20 AM (10 years, 5 months ago)

I heard about I-Doser and I decided to try it out last night. I did the LSD one which is like 35 minutes long I believe. At about 7:30pm I put on my headphones and laid back and listened to this play hoping for something to happen.

All I know is I didnt see anything at all psychedelic. I laid there listening and after about 5-10 minutes I fell asleep and that was it.

Does this stuff actually work or is it all just bullshit?

I haven't heard about this for years. It sounded like bullshit so I never bothered with it, personally. But I'm interested in others thoughts if they have something different to say.

IMO...Just take some real drugs. Little to no potential for bullshit.

From what I remember it uses binaural beats to drive brainwaves in the hope of generating altered states. My experience of binaural beats is that it's not a one shot affair to produce an interesting state. You have to work with them daily (akin to meditation) for them to really have an affect.

I used a set of CD's called the "Gateway Experience" from them Monroe Institute regularly for a couple of years and the results were pretty amazing. But it took years to get there. YMMV though.

It's all placebo, you don't need the binaural beats to get those effects, meditation will do the same things.

When I was a kid I tried it (I can't remember what substance it was trying to imitate but it was definitely something psychedelic). I lay in my bed with headphones on hoping for something to happen with my eyes closed and apart from some small obscure visuals that were probably the cause of a placebo effect (which I had to concentrate really hard on to notice) nothing happened.

Something unusual did however happen after the session was over and I took the headphones of; my voice started sounding very robotical (probably due to the fact that I had been listening to beeping sounds for 20 minutes) and the vision in one of my eyes became distorted :what: . It was very strange one eye could see normally, but the other eye saw things upside down, or it was angled in the wrong position (I can't remember it was so long ago but I do remember that if I was to look at my nose the vision from one eye would colide with the vision of the other, creating a mixture of what both eyes saw) . This lasted for about 5 minutes and after that things began to turn back to normal.

Thinking back to it I could consider trying it again because I just remembered that the "vibration noise" (for lack of a better word) is the exact same sound that I hear when I tune a guitar... I wonder did I begin hearing vibrations while tuning guitar because I was familiar with the vibrations that were found in I-Doser :awenuhuh:

I-doser is a bit misleading with their labeling.  No, you will not have a full-on acid trip listening to their LSD mp3   It is a shame I-doser makes it sound like smoking banana peels!

With that said, binaural audio (what I-doser and squareeater use) can really affect the brain.  Brainstates associated with everything from lucid dreaming to high anxiety can be induced.

Better yet, try it with visuals - strobing can do similar things as well:

I'm happy to answer questions on this

After trying many different "drugs" on there,I think idoser encourages a placebo effect, which given a very strong imagination maybe able to induce visions. However I think they are no more "tripping" then dreaming.
In conclusion yeah it's bs.I've tried 3 or 4 of them

I tried out I-doser a few years ago. I don't get it. Who can listen to that stuff without getting annoyed after the first minute? It's like two out of tune notes beating against each other. Screw getting high from it - you could use it to torture people!

for a psychedelic forum, there sure are alot of assholes on here who think they have everything figured out.

everyone is different.im willing to venture that i-doser can bring on some really cool feelings for some people, while doing nothing for others.if you lay there waiting for something to happen, chances are you wont feel anything. for me, i doser was a waste of computer space. ive heard of many people enjoying it. to say it is "bullshit" is pure ignorance. to each their own.

I'm guessing you've never dabbled in meditation?

For me, I've used binaural beats (not limited to iDoser) and of course they work. They work by sending two frequencies to each ear in which your brain reads the input frequency as the difference between the two. It's good for inducing/changing brain wave patterns (Delta, Theta, Alpha, etc).

Of course, iDoser sensationalizes their product; it won't get you high or tripping. However it can induce you into a state of meditation, lucid dreaming, astral projection, etc. Binaural beats are also very useful for overcoming severe insomnia without medication by inducing delta brain waves, helping you to relax.

I've had multiple OBEs and lucid dreaming experiences through the use of binaural beats. I also frequently add binaural beats to the background of my psytrance tracks; you'd be surprised how well it can induce a trance feeling.

Conclusion, iDoser as a "legal high"? Hell no. That's completely placebo. But iDoser/Binaural beats as a meditative tool, it's very effective.

If you have any more questions feel free to fire at me.

I-doser is just a brand for brainwwave entertainment. I binaural beat is to help your brain switch to those frequencies faster. So if you are listening to a Delta brainwave, it will help you get into a state of deep meditation. SO, meditate listening to that. I-dosers are basically just sounds that will change the freqency of your brain multiple times.
Like: Alpha -> Theta -> Delta

I use them to meditate, or when I can't fall asleep. Honestly, smoking a bowl and turning off the lights to meditate with binaural beats is an awesome method.

I tried it before I had the balls to take real psychedelics. It did make me relaxed and stuff, definitely not "LSD" effects. Although it was nothing I couldn't get from listening to calming music, just music isn't as annoying. Overall, I'd rather take some shrooms. Haha.

DAMN IT LOL. I knew it wouldnt be anything like an actual drug, I'm not stupid. But some people say they do produce some "effects" and others say its all complete bs.

Just wanted to see if anyone here could confirm or deny the legitimacy of it.

Its just not the effects most people will appreciate. If you meditate, you will find using these will get you into certain states of mind more easily.

Interesting so I-Doser has been branded poorly by it's developers? If so can anyone here report an impact that using I-Doser caused them while mediating?

Well I used there top selling file peyote and it had me go into a very lucid, meditative state. At a few points it was kinda like a lucid dream cuz I would think of something beautiful to see and kind of see it.It only happened once though the other times it just put me in a real chill state

I'm pretty stoned right and was just messing with this link. Definitely made me feel pretty trippy after sitting with my eyes closed for a couple minutes. The quick, white,  strobing effect made me feel like I was spinning. I can see how being under the influence of a psychedelic compound could make this get weird quick, especially when combined with the binaural beats.
