Just picked a short while ago.... Need an id
    #18760879 - 08/26/13 06:37 PM (10 years, 5 months ago)

Habitat:
Where does it grow? Eg. woods, pasture, state, province, country, altitude, etc. What does it grow on? Eg. soil, dung, wood (dead, living, what kind of wood?), etc.
Sort of buried or not easily visible in cut grass on the opposite side of fence from horse pasture located in South Carolina.....
Gills:
Color, attached/not, gills/pores, etc.
Dark brown gills,

Stem:
Length, diameter, color, texture, hollow/solid, thin/thick, etc.

Stems appeared to be no longer than an inch and a half at the longest...
White stem for the most part..... Hollow I think not overly thick, more on the slender side....

Cap:
Diameter, color, texture, conical/spherical, convex/concave, etc.

A brownish off white cap, a little leathery due to a bit of sun exposure I think
Largest cap was around an inch all around

Spore print color:
Very important!
Looks like a dark purplish black/brown
Bruising:
Color that the mushroom bruises, if any.

Not sure yet, no bluing yet....

Other information:
Scent of the mushroom, anything else you think is important, large close-up pictures showing stem, cap and gills.

Any feedback is appreciated

Thanks

Looks close to Agaricus, the gills seem to be free from the stipe...otherwise check out Stropharia. They look pretty dry.

The gills are marginate. It's Panaeolus semiovatus.

I'm actually going to go with it might be Panaeolus semiovatus... The immature gills shouldn't be quite that shade of brown.
