I was walking in the woods today behind my house, well I found this just wondering if its Laetiporus. (chicken of the woods)(Species 1)

(The bottom)

Habitat: Wood - Found growing out of a old tree on the end of its life.
Gills: The Bottom of the mushroom is bright yellow.
Stem: The color or the mushroom connected to the tree was dark yellow/orange. Cap: The top is a darker orange in the front lip then gets brighter in the middle.
Spore print color: Not taken
Bruising: No color change noticed
Location: East coast Massachusetts.

If I was to grow it i would make or buy plug spawn and grow them out on logs / stumps outside.
Not sure how somebody would grow them inside. Probably on saw dust and woody substrate in some type of controlled greenhouse. Ive never seen chicken grown indoors, that might be a better question for the gourmet mushroom forum.
Just a tip on picking it, from my experience its best to trim the edges and leave the stem and tough center of the shelves attached to the stump. This will allow it to keep growing and you can harvest every week. Pick the whole mushroom and it will really stall growth possibly until next year.

thanks for the advice. I just took a piece and sandwitched it in between some pasteurized manure with wood chunks and moss, in a mason jar lets see what happens.
