the .22 will kill...after yer opponent has filled you with lead, taken yer gun,or stabbed you in the time its gonna take him to expire
the problem with your claims is that real life shooting fatalities paint a much different picture, you're living in a land of fantasy about the ineffectiveness of a .22 in self defense
let's face it, thousands of people surviving being shot a dozen or more times with a 9mm, it doesnt paint a pretty picture for the round's effectiveness or your claims about stopping power

I like glocks tho.its nice yer just gonna have to get proficient at firing a large caliber out of a compact pistol.i had a kel tec 9mm,after like a clip or two my hand was sore as hell from the snap, but hopefully the glock is more controllable than those POS

Keeping a pistol clean is very important to it's accuracy, it's been mentioned by marksman though who've been shooting for years they aren't that accurate.

You need to check your gun laws. You have to have a special permit to even own a silencer for any gun. I live in Montana which is 100% pro gun and I've only ever known 2 people that have a permit to own a silencer. One is a Smith and Wesson rep and the other owns his own gun shop and he teaches concealed carry classes.
So basically they dont just let anyone get a silencer, and for good reasons

yea i realize it will take a long time before i can get a silencer and it will be expensive. but that's what i want and once i get approved for it, if i do, i should be approved to get full auto which will be a fucking blast once i can afford that.

if you put water into it there is a huge difference. especially if you're outside.
this is a good example, at 1.20 he puts water in the suppressor.

I saw a video, someone in the comments said if you don't submerge a gun completely when shooting submerged in water it'll like recoil or some shit and break your wrist.

Sure there are cases where people have been stopped by one 22 bullet and not been stopped by 20 9mm bullets, but generally speaking, I think it's safe to say that a 9mm has a better chance of stopping someone from being a further threat than a 22. Don't get me wrong, 22's are nasty little bullets and I wouldn't want to get shot with either, but I think most people would feel much safer with a 9mm or 45 than a 22.

you're kidding, right?
9mm is comparable to a .45, not a 22. With good hollow points a 9mm will expand to be wider than a .45.
22's are lethal, yea, but it might not be until the next day. There's no comparison in the stopping power.
tell us what this stopping power myth is if you dont mind
we know the police dont use a .22, they typically use a 9mm

Suppressors are actually rather ineffective. Here's a video as an example.
An aquaintnance has a suppressor for his UZI. With subsonic ammunition it sounds like a nail gun. Its quiet enough to hear the action cycling.
That's pretty quiet imo.

ive had gun world, guns, handgunner mag subscriptions for years and still, and never has any article said a 22 was a good self defense round...maybe for a woman if someones wearing a leather jacket or layers or denim a 22 from 10 yards fired from a hand gun might not even penetrate enough to do any damage, meanwhile yer advisories dumping real centerfire caliber rounds at you not rim fire..22 is lacking in kinetic energy in a combat situation

Yeah, that's just screwing the thing on the barrel and firing. I imagine with supersonic ammunition you'd get a lot more noise and a crack though.

Guns are pretty fun to fire, but I've never really felt a compelling urge to own one. I feel like when people carry weapons like this, there is way too much temptation to not be careful and put oneself in dumb situations that would be avoided if they weren't carrying.

My point was that I think people who carry guns are more likely to put themselves in risky situations that they would otherwise avoid if they weren't carrying.
Like I said, I enjoy shooting guns, I was just stating one of the reasons that I choose not to carry one.
