(not) properly dried?

Sorry for this noob question, but I just want to be sure my shrooms are ok. I have a decent amount of shrooms left from a grow a couple of months ago. I dried them cracker dry and put them in a Ziploc bag, but now they are somewhat soft again. They have the normal mushroom smell and they look ok, so no fungus or anything, but they aren't completely dry. Could I just re dry them completely so they are good to eat, with maybe only some potency loss? Thanks

Sure you can put them back on the dehydrator. I personally get then to cracker dry then toss like 10 desiccant bags into the ziplock or tupperware

Yeah man get some desiccant bags, from a computer store or something. They often have huge amounts lying around. Keep those crisp mofos crisp forever.

I always store dried fruits in a desiccant chamber. A tub with a small tupperware full of desiccant will do the trick, just keep the fruits and desiccant from touching.
You can buy a nice bag of desiccant from the store for $5-10.
And if they only drew a little moisture out of the air so they are bendy now, I doubt you will see any potency loss.

yeah, to keep the desiccants from touching the fruits, there are tons of tricks, I like using a piece of aluminium foil. I tuck the edges to keep it from separating things completely, but at least they don't touch.

don't use a fan! They are already dried. Exposing them to the air will only allow for more rehydration. Just put them back in the bag with some desiccants or in a dehydrator for a day and then back into the bag with desiccants. And don't store them in the fridge. When you take the bag out and open it the bag instantly will fog and allow for tons of moisture to enter the bag and the shrooms.

Do you even read what you type? Please provide an example of a dehydrator that doesn't use a fan

Thats your opinion and yes i do. Do not expose your dried mushrooms to moist air at any time. Regardless of what Llama tells you. Keep them in a COOL dark place in an air tight container with desiccants. Look at all the people that agreed with me from the beginning. Llama just likes to flame me.

You are a pathetic individual. Quit stretching my words and following me around. Yes dehydrators use a fan but the dry heat is what is important. So DO NOT USE A BOX FAN in a room. There is to much ambient moisture to achieve the dryness you are looking for

Drying in front of a fan can only get the fruit as dry as the air. If there is high humidity, figure on your fruits becoming moist fast. This is why after fan drying or dehydrating fruit is moved to a desiccant chamber to remove the final percentage of moisture.
OP: From your description, simply putting into a jar with a bag of desiccant should fix your problem in short order. I have had seen this happen, with no issues.

I did not stretch your words. I merely quoted your advice and pointed out how bad it was or how someone who doesn't know what they're doing might perceive bad advice as good advice. As for following you around... I'm just going to point out any bad advice I see. If that happens to occur with your contributions more than any others, maybe you should take a look at yourself and the advice you're giving.
Pathetic individual? That's a pretty personal attack isn't it, mods?

I didn't say it was any different.
You are all worked up and killing the thread, though. Grow up or go away.

I know what you meant. You were just telling him not to put them back in front of a fan. I don't know what everyone is tripping on. Good call.
I bought a bag of desiccant that has the beads that turn from blue to pink when they are used up. I made up a bunch of little pouches using do-it-yourself teabags

It was no different. I simply conveyed my thoughts and experiences which happened to parallel your own. I come in peace, and mean no harm.
