I use a POS dehydrator. It was something like $20 at one of those stores where they try to sell knockoff kitchenware, cheap electronics and anything from a semi that tipped over. I'm not sure which category my dehydrator fits into, or if it fits into all three of them, but all it has is a little heating element in the bottom. It relies on convection to get the job done, and works well enough to allow me to fill the entire thing up with Chlorophyllum rhacodes and have it dry by morning.
OP, how sure are you that your mushrooms were completely dry? Sometimes it feels like they are, but unless you actually break one to see you can't really know. If there's any moisture in them, osmosis will make them floppy again in no time.
