I saw a great documentary about alternative birthing methods. It made me change my mind completely, and if I ever have a baby, fuck bringing my baby momma to a hospital.
Birthing my baby standing up in a tub of warm water.
Anyone else have knowledge on this, or any other birthing methods?

maybe it would be smart to do it close to a hospital. just in case.
Or maybe midwives would know what to do somewhat. I'm no expert haha

Possibly. I think my chances are pretty good.
unless a solid percentage or births have serious complications.

Well, back in the old days, before modern medicine, it was more safe to have a baby naturally because medicine hadn't been invented yet. But ever since medicine was invented, the medical industry and mass population made it seem "dangerous" to have a baby normally.

The US has the highest number of infant mortality rates among developed nations, I believe.
And I was aware of midwives. I don't have kids, and...I really don't think I want them, so I can't really say I've formed an opinion on which route I'd go for.
I was born at an actual birthing clinic and I was a water and natural birth, I think my mom would've gone with a midwife but the nice lady that delivered me is actually my Aunt and my mom chose that birthing clinic and went to Newark, New Jersey specifically for that reason.

Have you ever considered the negative effect this will have on the genestock?
For instance in a time of high infant mortality, children would need to actually survive birth on their own in order to pass on their genetics. However now, many children who suffer birth complications that would normally die at birth survive and potentially pass on the potential for this very same complication to their offspring.
Maybe it's nothing. But imagine if we become so dependent on medicine that one day it will simply be impossible for our species to give birth without the aid of technology and without it all babies would just die.

My step sister birthed that way, there was a complication though (hemorrhaging) and they brought her to the hospital. Any good Midwife knows when something is wrong and will do the appropiate action to see the baby born without problem.

It's the plain truth. We've built up our genetic stock for centuries and now we're shitting on that heritage. I wouldn't want to see any mother lose her child, but I wouldn't want to see her bury that child either.
