Seen anything like this before?
    #18757434 - 08/25/13 10:10 PM (10 years, 5 months ago)

got a surprise today when i looked in my incubator.

never knew mushrooms could grow from just verm and being able to squeeze through the tiny nail hole. incubator stays in dark until i check on them, it can get a little humid in there thats what im thinking helped start the process.

ha never seen that happen before.  I think it is safe to assume that it is ready to be taken out and fruit now.

I have never had that happen.  But RR did with lions mane.  Grew right out of the SGFC

I've had it happen with both Lion's Mane and Oyster. I was real busy and let it go a bit to long and it formed a full Mushroom although a Small one. Just goes to show the energy an organism will put into living and ensuring the existence of it's species.

This is very common with over incubated oysters, lions mane, and reishi. They will do anything they can to fruit once all available resources have been colonized.

I agree with Aleon. This is a common occurence, and your jar is ready for fruiting. How long did it take to reach that point? Is it a hearty strain?

inoculated 8-2, my incubator could be better it doesn't quite reach 86f. seems to be a pretty good strain of pink oysters

Oysters always grow so quickly! Definitely a good strain. Do you know if the species is salmoneostramineus or djamor? Aloha's
salmoneostramineus VDE1 strain is very vigorous as well, and the djamor AM1 fruit bodies are so tender! here are some pictures. The salmoneostramineus bursted out of a bag that was intended for mycelium use.
