Im certain these are psilocybe semilanceata! (Libery Caps)
    #18755474 - 08/25/13 02:48 PM (10 years, 5 months ago)

Ok so im very new to this, but after reading quite a lot on mushroom hunting in general ive found something that i very much think are liberty caps.

They were found in a field were cows graze, all around cow poo.

They all have the distinctive papilla, the caps all have a light brown/hazel nut colour that turns black/brown at the bottom. The caps feel surprisingly strong. The stipe is very long, tough and white with very vauge brown areas. The gills are brown, relatively compact, i say about 20 of them per cap. Spore prints are on the way, but the gills seem to have been tinged brown by the spores.

NOTE: these have all been in contact with various other dry LBM's. Is there any relevant chance a simple LBM in a field is poisonous and has contaminated these?

Thanks.

Nice finds!

From now on, try to keep different type of mushrooms in seperate containers or bags. You may want to have the other mushrooms ID'd so that you can rule out the toxic species.

If you are hunting libs it's highly unlikely you will find anything similar looking that's poisonous. But they are indeed libs. Enjoy

Very happy ive found libs! Now that the rest of the mushrooms i picked have dried, i can see a lot more of them are in fact libs! below are some pictures of the other ones i found, it would be great if someone could just give me a flat toxic or not for each one.

Ive smoked a good 3 grams of weed a few times with no tolerance so im not new to being high but im under the impression mushrooms are pretty mindblowing and spiritual. This might seem like a really stupid question but how many libs should i eat if im just looking for a nice "stoner" like buzz?

The other ones:

1:

Small stipe with a large white cap with a brown nipple on top. Brown, fairly spaced out gills.

2:
Large, twisted stipe. White/tinged orange slight cap.
Brown, aproximately 20 gills.

3:
Small brown/orange mushroom. Brown gills.

Big thanks to everyone has helped me here, very thankful, hopefully
now i can identify them myself  .
