Look what I found growing in my new complex.

So I moved into a new complex about three weeks ago and look what I found growing in the grass next to an outdoor grill.
Now I'm still a noob to IDing wild found fungi...but this looks like something I've grown before...Active or no? I picked it about 10min ago and I haven't noticed any bluing on the stem yet.

Don't Stropharia have annuli? It looks like Agrocybe to me.

Not all, Stropharia ambigua is an example of one that doesn't. According to mushrooms demystified they all have veils though. The gills are too dark/purple for Agrocybe.

Agrocybe shouldn't have black gills like this specimen. I agree with Stropharia

They're not black, they're light brown and darkened by the purplish chocolate brown spores.

I was talking about how they look. Have you ever came across an agrocybe whose gills look so dark? To me that's more blackish than chocolate brow , chocolate brown is the shade you find in Agaricus species

I was saying the spores are chocolatey purple brown. The gills of Agrocybe when I find them are kind of a grey light tan color. I think because the gills and spores are mature in this specimen, and because the photo was taken with a potato, they appear darker.

I've only found Stropharia semiglobata and the spores more blackish than brownish, I can say maybe even a bit greyish. I get your point but I can't relate the kind of brown I've found on Agrocybe sp with this colour, and when I saw it I immediately thought about more darkened spore specimens when you start exploring your micophile side you soon discover a myriad of colours you didn't even know existed.

I can see Agrocybe like cracking starting on the cap of pic 2. It really looks like Agrocybe molesta, the grass decomposer.

Looks kind of like S. melanosperma without the ring. I suppose there are a bunch of Stropharia that fit that bill.

Ya Stropharia does seem to fit better, I can see some really dark purple spores on the veil remnants along the cap margin.
