I want to remind everyone still in the contest that the Quickest to Flower for Lophophora and Astrophytum are both still up for grabs.

I'd like to pet it if you don't mind.
Time to diddle the flowers. Both are open now. The first flowers on the one didn't produce any fruits.

I'm out of the competition. I degrafted my triple lopho graft as it stopped growing and want to propagate the pereskiopsis quicker for my next project. The lesson I learned this year was don't make multiple grafts to one stock.
Good luck everyone.

Updates? We've gotten lax at enforcing the 1 month update rule, but I'd love to see some pictures.

I have a nice fruit developing from the flower on the middle turb. The one on the right might be the father. I haven't used any fertilizer the past 6 weeks or so. Things are starting to slow down again. Gonna brew up something special to kick off the growing season right. I started a bunch of new seeds and waiting for the grafting stock to be ready. While also waiting for my trichocereus to go back outside so I can graft this competitions plants to some long term stock. Would also like to degraft a lot of the stuff and just let them grow low n slow. I have a small weird asterias that has two funny arieols that I feel like are waiting to bloom. But they developed so early and haven't done anything.. So I don't know maybe this summer or fall? I'll take some pix at some point.

Just a couple of quick pics. Spring is finally here and I'm in the process of moving all my plants outside.
A. myriostigma finally starting to show it's KIKKO traits, although not very pronounced, hopefully just for now.

A Myrtillocactus with an Ariocarpus head on each of the 3 branches! That was the intention at least, but one of them died, I'll have to graft a new one.

T. rioverdensis and the multigraft

This one is intriguing, I'm looking forward to see how it develops. Pity about that multi-Ario-graft, it would look wonderful.

Thanks! Hopefully it will still! I'm debating whether to graft a retusus, to catch up to those two with it's faster growing speed, or a scapharostrus, which IMO would look much better. Now it's fisuratus, lloydii, and the kotchubeyanus died.

You could try a A. hintonii to keep it all in the same group of species. It would soon catch the A. lloydii (it is a lot slower growing IME), but the A. fissuratus would always have a lead.

That's a great idea! I think I have some A. hintonii coming with my latest seed order, and the 6 month difference shouldn't even be visible after a year or two!

My A. asterias are budding and I may have already missed one flower. It's not too soon.

Awesome can't wait to see it!

Whats up with this? It has Dark hairs sticking out of the two tufts like you see on the buds. Also what would one call this growth pattern?

Threatened with eviction, my three grafts decided to do something. Not much yet, but I'm sure they'll soon look like little willies.

(I wonder if they were light-stunned. They are about 3-4" from a T5 6400K tube, but I can't believe that's too much light)
