what a wonderful display.
and ,from aunty annie's attic....... hydro cup hyper lophs.

160W LED array, at least 7500k note the following things....... observe the perekiopsis diameters. the grafted ones, are outdoor. the leafy ones , are 100% indoor. once again, note the thickness.
annie knows how to make robust peres INDOORS. observe ,the luxurient leaf set on the indoor ones.
also, the tips of the peres leaves. and the vibrant carotene tips. just like they do when outside in the sun.
grafts are about nickle size, from pea clones @ about 6 weeks. hydro on nylon poms 7-7-7

Anne, great looking setup you've got.
I'd like to ask you about that LED setup. Do you like it? How large of an area does 160w cover? Do you grow any larger columnar cacti under these lights and if so how long until you move them outside.
I have been thinking about picking up something similar. Thanks!

each shelf like that, does a 2x 2 area, at about 24 inches overhead.
we no longer grow column cacti, as we find it impractical indoors.
our only focus, is button cacti and hydro peres secrets.
the results on this sorta amaze us, the heat value is super low, the light sunglasses bright. we wear blu blocker sunglasses with this system.
and peeps, keep your faces away from high energy LED.

Nice set up! It would have been nice if you started some seeds with us instead of doing your own thing with grafting buttons though.

were working on a project called aerophora ATM/ no sub grafts W/O the peres stalk........ therefore, we couldnt spare the space for seed projects. what im showing, is actually a side show snippet of a larger project.
my interest here, is sharing tips for dynamic growth, and encouraging a good contest.
every good race, has a pace car.

I'm crossing my fingers on this one. Its grown a bit since the photo. The first cotyledons and areoles are pupping. But the center looks like its terminated in a crest. Wishful thinking but I sure hope so. Its probably just pupping like mad.

The list of contestants and updates has now been updated.
Users with a ??? next to their name indicated they were entering the contest, but I have not yet seen an update. If I skipped over your update, please let me know.
Please remember to update at least once a month.
Everything looks great. Looks like there will be some really nice specimens.

Not only are you not competing in this graft comp, but you're also not Kenny Rogers? That's a double let down.

Great growth you got going on there!
Yeah I second that, hope to see the ???s and first update people soon.
Some of mine seem to be slowing down. Debating with myself what to do. Up water and nutes or trim roots and repot. Or just keep as is and keep up with watering better, I think I missed the right times to water over the past month and let them dry out too much in between and slowed the flow. what ever though its all good

That's some impressive growth GoT. Those colors on that turbinicarpus are . With it being so cold here already, I don't stand a chance at winning the comp but I may at least have some extras to offer up to whoever ends up winning.
