Work and Happiness Diagram

I was playing with some diagrams and stuff, and this one seemed quite interesting.
Is your job in the center? Are you moving towards the center? That sector 3 is IMO quite an issue, because it's possible to survive in it, even thought you may not be living. Sector 2 might be interesting to look at, because yeah, non-lucrative pothead activities that take all day Sector 0 would mean activities that you like doing, don't have all the skills to go pro yet, but they are clearly making money for others, so it makes sense to study and learn and stick to that field. Where are you today, how's your job doing? Discuss.

Interesting diagram. At the moment I see myself in category 3 and it will most likely stay that way until I finish school with a degree and quit.
If it temporarily pays the bills, putting in the effort is well worth it.

I'm definitely in the number 2 category. But I am rich in happiness!

So that's more like around 2 somewhere, if it doesn't make enough money, right? Do you like the activity? It's good to know if it's between 2 and 1, or even 2 and "know how to do" (as in, you don't even like it, AND it doesn't really pay all the bills you want).Quote:

Very interesting discussion, if 2 is better than 3. If you look at what old people say about their regrets in life, very few say things like "I wish I had more money". Much more regret is about not going for it, for the 1 and 2. Word to the wise.

That's pretty clever. Unfortunately, I hate my job, I'm terrible at it, and it pays shit.

So you're floating somewhere outside the graph, in outer space

I just try to be real friendly to everybody at work so nobody will want me to get fired. Everyone knows I'm dead weight but I keep on hanging on. One time they actually fired me and then called me back a few weeks later and said I could come back if I wanted. Recently, my boss told me I better stop smoking weed cause they're going to piss test me. So now I'm not even getting high but it was pretty decent of him to give me a heads up.

So what's your planned exit, your next step? Promotion? New job? Head in the sand and hope the gods take pity?

New job, I hope. I want to talk to my boss about building some bridges and transitioning into something different.

I've got a job and I'm working more than I'd like to but it's good money, and now that I've learned how to do the job and do it well, it's not too bad at at all. I do strive to live in the present as much as possible, but at this point in time I'm in the midst of an internal dilemma based on balancing what I need to do, and what I love to do. All the while I'm discovering how I can make those things overlap and become one
