I was thinking in terms of monotubs. I'm basically doing the exact same thing, I'm just not going to fruit it the same way because the tray/container isn't tall enough for that, so I'm just going to open it up after it's done colonizing and let it fruit in the SGFC. I may be VASTLY over complicating this, I just didn't find a definitive bulk tray tek to use.
If you could post a pic of yr tray/tub that would probably clear this up in no time

Oh! I'm not sure then. I just woke up and my brain is too fried...hopefully someone else will help.
What was the question again?
So now can I call you silly billy?
Yes my names not Billy so I wouldn't take it personally

Gaps between the main body and the lid should provide enough GE - just like with a normal monotub that has the holes taped up
or if yr worried about it - that lid actually looks petty air tight - you could always drill a couple of holes in the top and TIGHTLY pack with polyfill

Thanks man. I thought I needed GE holes because of those holes at the substrate level used in a mono. It's crazy that enough air can pass through that tiny little gap!

I think there will be enough ge with that lid. It's not like it has a rubber seal or anything

The holes on a mono are taped shut during colonization and we rely on the imperfect lid to provide ge

The holes are only uncovered in a mono when you introduce fruiting conditions mate

Oh OK. In my other thread I'd asked about this and thought you had said that the top holes are taped but bottom holes just stuffed tightly with polyfil (during colonization) and then the top holes were untaped and stuffed loosely with polyfil for fruiting. So then all holes of a monotub are taped for the spawn run?
EDIT

Guess there's my answer, thanks for clarifying!

Yep. All holes are taped shut and then when put into fruiting you stuff the bot holes tight and the top holes loose
