A question about genetics - Cloning vs MS

this isnt specific to any species (unless it should be), which is why im asking here instead of gourmet forum
So, i guess what i'm asking is how much (if at all) do growth parameters affect the genetics from a cloned mushroom; or how much do specific genes resist expectations from sub-optimal conditions?
Weird question i know, but i cloned an oyster from what i would call a somewhat small cluster and am wondering if i give perfect conditions for monster growth, how can i expect my oysters to turn out? So far they seem slightly larger than the ones i cloned (so i am doing my own tests), but i'm curious if anyone has any science to back up further exploration on the subject.
thanks, friends.

AFAIK lc from vendors are isolates... that said I have an interesting situation of my own... my last batch of oysters were made with oats and I'm seeing a much larger growth from them. I'm really curious to see how the rest of them turn out as only 3 bags have fruited as of yet (the first started 2.5-3 days ago and the biggest fruit is already larger than my fist )
I'm sure that growth conditions do have at least somewhat of an effect, but I'm anxiously waiting to see if all bags turn out like this, and if so will soon be applying this same question as I was sure vendors lc were from isolates (though I could be wrong)
All that said, if you cloned a wild specimen than it is likely that a multitude of genetics are involved...

so what i cloned was from a health market. So, probably not from the wild. as far as i know (from a TI) i cloned P. pulmonarius, which is known for some of the characteristics i've witnessed in my own fruits.
So a clone is essentially an isolate, is that right? Or is it not really 'isolated' (its more of an isolate of a bunch of.... potential isolation?)
Also, i'm curious, do people on here share agar dishes? I know of spore prints, but i've never grown from spores (except syringe) in fact, i'm trying to take a spore print right now but i'm unsure its working (either too soon, or all spores have released [i doubt the latter])
do you post photos, ever? I'd love it if you shared your grow! you're invited to post in this thread if you want.
so far both of my baskets are showing the same types of fruits (my second harvest also similar specimens). Also, they are all from the same parent cluster (maybe at most 2 different mushrooms from same cluster -- i assume the genes are all very, very close).
thanks for the response, and i'm very interested in what you find out!!

Well a clone can be an isolate if it came from an isolated culture, which I would assume the commercially grown mushrooms would be.
As far as peeps sharing, yep sure do. There is a trade thread in gourmet/medicinal, or you can make a request in the market. (Or even by pm)
As far as photos, I post now and then... When I get home I'll shoot the fist sized Oyster I have going as I really need to harvest them anyway. (Meant to do it last night, but got all smashed and woke up at a chick's house to my boss calling me into work on my day off... I really hate that )
Either way environment will always have at least some control over the end result, but as to how much I am unsure.
