you kidding me dude? cubensis is the SPECIES. STRAIN refers to the variety of cubensis.

Strain PC variety Z+ the genes i have isolated produce very dense stalks and caps. What is 35.4+38.1=73.5 total dry weight!

It's the same concept as Cannabis. Indica and Sativa and Ruderalis are the species, you don't call these strains do you?
No, the strains are the different varieties of each species. Like breeds of dogs.
