Sorry I can't help, Ganz.

Where are all these slackers?  LOL.

Are you gonna eat that one?  Looks purty nasty to me.  I see a lot of the bolete lookin' guyz with yellow pores and they do not say yum to me.

It is supposed to be very tasty. It is mostly eaten by bugs though.

I made the mistake on some of that A. augustus of slicing it up and putting it in the frig knowing that it was iffy with the critters.  My Gawd, they were everywhere.  Then I chucked it all into my compost pail in the kitchen.  Those little fuckers had climbed outa the pail and were everywhere.

Never again.  I'd seen little tunnels prior, but never had 'em deluge me.

"Unusual for boletes, B. mirabilis sometimes appears to fruit on the wood or woody debris of Hemlock, suggesting a saprobic lifestyle." -Wikipedia...for what it's worth

B. mirabilis tastes fantastic!  Sautee up a few pieces; they should taste lemony.

I found more and it is not so buggy. I'll cool it later and describe flavors.

Teehee.  AND they keep fairly well if you get 'em before the bugs do.
