Life span of a spore syringe?

I have 2 syringes that are around 13-15 months old, they have been sitting in my closet at room temperature this whole time. So I'm wondering what is the average life of a syringe that has not been refridgerated? Also, I may need to keep the syringe and all my other supplies in my car for 2 days while I move into a different room... Would 2 days exposure to the inside of a hot car make any difference at this point? Thanks for any help you can give...

It has been said that syringes over a year old can still be viable (I do not know if these were refridgerated or not). But, let it be known that viability will decrease with age. I am fairly confident that there may be some spores left that will still germinate. I have noticed that viability will steadily decline with age, and have had some older ones fail to germinate or contaminate (but on the other hand, I have had fresh ones fail to germinate, possibly due to a number of reasons, as with the failures). But, I have never had any that were close to a year old (oldest was about 6 months, and it worked).

As long as the temperature does not exceed 106F, then they should be fine. The spores will be killed at this temperature. Good luck!

have a spore syringe ~15mo old. plated twenty petri dishes about 2 mo ago w/no problem. have used strict sterile technique to avoid syringe contaminants. has been between room temp and 86deg F the whole time.is this luck or what?
