Nope. Sterilizing it would kill all bacteria and hinder your success rate. Pasteurization, in this instance, works by killing molds and harmful bacteria, while keeping beneficial bacteria alive.
Everything Frank said is spot on. Every part of that could be stickied somewhere as educational.

so coir is at 50/50 shot while poop is 100% to work? Poop was always nasty to work with and coir can be picked up at any pet store. Ill just stick with the bucket method with coir.

Bucket tek works ok for a coir verm sub. If you go this route I think it helps to use plenty of spawn and colonize and fruit on the lower end of the temp range. I have been doing this with great results so far. 6 tubs in a row with zero contams. Btw I use 6 qts of spawn, brick of coir, 2 qts verm and follow damon5050 bucket tek exactly. Colonize and fruit at 68 to 70 degrees

Advocating bucket tek is like saying you should cross the road with your eyes closed. Worked for me, I'm still alive..
logic fail...

Whatever you say man. I didn't say that it was better than proper pasteurization. Just that it can work just fine with coir verm. You can actually get by without doing anything but adding water to coir and verm

Sure, it can. I would say it's quite a stupid risk to take, like in many other aspects of life.
After all that work, why risk everything to a bucket? I'd rather pasteurize in a pillow case with temps monitored, if jars/bags is the problem.
