5/6 jars contaminated

Hey hey, so a friend of mine is doing his first cultivation, spawning to bulk using WBS. He inoculated 6 jars, which started to show nice growth, however now only one jar remains healthy. Smelling the jars through the Tyvek gives a strong, almost acidic smell in all except the healthy one. What is this contamination? How should my friend prevent it in the future?
Now, to save time, my friend is considering throwing out the contaminated jars, picking up some popcorn and doing a G2G transfer. Would that be viable?

Tell your friends to come make an account if he's worried about his mushrooms.

Well... you're not using ball jars lol. I use ball jars and only ball jars. Other problems could be poor syringes, bad sterile technique, and or wrong grain prep.

Your jar was made in china, that's your answer.

When you say acidic do you mean like a sweet/sour smell? If so its bacteria.

Haha did no one else laugh out loud when they read this discussion. The china reference followed by Sweet/Sour. I thought it was unintentionally hilarious. Maybe I'm just too

Hey, thanks for the advice guys. Turns out my last jar was contaminated soon, I suppose I should have washed the jars before using them (maybe). Ah well, I guess I'll try again, but I'll make sure I make proper lids etc this time. All I did for this is put some tyvek over the jars.

Oh bollocks... If you don't know something say nothing. I use cheap mayo and olive jars from the shop as well as expensive US ones, they are the same. Contamination comes from poor technique or incorrect sterilization.
edit: tyvec is a shitty tek also IMHO... if you are going to go ghetto just use polyfil.
