Laccaria genus seems right, but it's more like L. laccata or L. proxima imo

Looks quite a bit like L. laccata to me.  Is the stem super tough? They're also supposed to have quite a unique smell. Pretty cool looking mushroom to be honest. I like the contrast between the reddish stipe and the big white gills.

Nevermind, apparently if there are pines around micro is usually required to distinguish between those two species. So yeah... just another excuse to get a scope I guess:grin:

I agree I like the contrast of the stipe to the not crowded white gills too. I cant smell them very well after they been sitting. I did however find this link on laccaria proxima that makes me think its for sure it. I could be wrong of course (not TI). I will look more into the laccaria laccata  heres the link for proxima I found http://morrie2.wordpress.com/2012/07/02/laccaria-proxima-an-abundant-species/
