We call that camp.

Not in that case.

It was fictional propaganda.

The Burbs.

"We shouldn't pay for that, we should sue them."

--------------------
God takes those closest to us, because it makes him feel better about himself. He is a very vengeful God. He's all pissed off about something we did thousands of years ago. He just can't get over it, so he doesn't care who he takes. Children, puppies, it don't matter to him, so long as it makes us sad.

Why does God give us anything?

Look at it this way: if you want to make a baby cry, first you give it a lollipop. Then you take it away. If you never give it a lollipop to begin with, it would have nothin' to cry about. That's like God, who gives us life and love and help just so that he can tear it all away and make us cry, so he can drink the sweet milk of our tears. You see, it's our tears, Stan, that give God his great power.

It was lampooning the that 50s style anti-communist propaganda, IMO or even anti-nazi propaganda from the Second World War.

That turned out to be a rather prophetic title didn't it?

I do not think The Lost Boys holds up.

The splish splash tub scene is particularly creepy.

I second The Breakfast Club.

Visually but especially conceptually The Neverending Story is positively great.

Akira, anyone?

Oh Hell Yea! Alien.  The Thing.

I remember seeing Akira when I was like 8 years old. It changed my whole perspective of what animation was. Of course, it's only years later that I really understood it.

That fuckin' awesome gif of John Candy reminded me of Uncle Buck and Cool Runnings.  I dunno how they'd hold up.  I would assume I'd still watch 'em both.
