Treating ADHD with exercise

For my whole life have been impacted by ADHD, it would get in the way with my schooling during middle school and high school. I always become distracted or sidetracked, I start reading something and end up not having the attention span to continue reading. I refuse to take Adderall or any prescription ADHD med for that matter (I don't agree with pill that slowly destroy your dopamine over time) My question is this, does working out have any effect on ADHD simliar to the mechanism of Amps and Ritalin for ADHD. I don't agree with taking stimulant narcotics to modify my ADHD but at the same time there's gotta be something that can be done. I have heard about meditation and fish oil being helpful as well but I am mainly interested in the effects of working out as a means to treat ADHD symptoms or to at least keep them under some type of control.
Any advice would be appreciated (especially from those suffering from ADHD) IE what have you done yourself to overcome these symptoms if anything at all.

This. I thought I had adhd. Was diagnosed with it and took the pills for a few years...Did great in school while on them...
Started meditation while still on the pills..Realized if I wanted to further my mindfulness I needed to get off the pills. Thankfully did and am twice the person I was while on the pills.
Meditation will change your life if you stick with it.

Never tried meditation but honest to god I don't think it will work even with a positive attitude im still scatterbrained and unproductive without the meds.

With that kind of approach going into something nothing will work. Give yourself 5 minutes a day and just sit somewhere and focus on your breaths going in/out. A month of that and you will notice a mental shift.

I've tried meditating to music while baked, and that was relaxing. Although I've heard meditation can take years and years to master, the way your putting it though makes it seem like it would still have a positive effect irregardless of experience.

Its something you have to cultivate I think. Meditating 3 minutes a day 7 days a week is better than a one hour meditation once a week.
Just try to fit it in your day, even if its only a minute. Eventuallly that one minute a day will grow and your overall consciousness will follow.
