I currently live in TN in the states but I want to relocate over seas. Where would be a nice english speaking place to start over? I won't be able to acquire much money for this either.

what skills are you bringing to your new country? if you have no money and just don't feel like you should have to learn another language, why should anybody want to let you move to their country?

I relocated to Hawaii 2 years ago. best decision i ever made. life is NOT passing me by here. takes a certain chill, drama free attitude though that refuses to take anything seriously.

Pretty much this. You have to basically be a good investment for a country to make it "easy" getting in. I'm not too sure you can just say "Hey I'm moving just for the heck of it. So whaddya' say you let me in? Oh and I'm broke. And I only speak English"
I've looked into moving out of the US and you need to have a skill they're in need of. Otherwise they don't want your bumpkin ass. <-- I mean that lovingly, I'm for TN too

You'll be hard pressed to find an English speaking country abroad that you can live as cheaply in as you can TN.
Guyana or South Africa would probably be your best bet.

If, like many of the users of this site, you have a college degree and are young, there are lots of countries overseas where you can become an English teacher without possessing many, if any, qualifications. South Korea pays especially well I heard.

How much school have you completed?? If you have a BA you might be able to find a job teaching English. Otherwise, you could try to get into a "study abroad" program where you live with a (host) family.

I love relocating. Staying in the same place/country too long can become less than exciting. For other nice English speaking countries I suggest you check out Straya, NZ or Canada, maybe even the UK (living in London is like living in all of Europe at the same time, as far as culture is concerned, very expensive though)
You could also check out Netherlands or your favorite Scandinavian country as English is pretty well understood. It's easy to pick up the basics of a new language, especially if they speak the basics of yours. Though you may have trouble finding work.
I suggest avoiding Eastern Europe.
Then again you might just want to move somewhere else in the States. Something I love about the U.S. is how remarkably socially different people are depending on your geography.

Czech Republic and Slovakia are not so bad. Probably bout the same standard of living as in much of the southern and midwestern US.

Thats one of the more highly debatable statements I've heard in a while. And where? Are we talking washington state or nevada like, big country..and by what standards are you measuring this

Or you could provide some reasoning as to why you think so?
And I'm not in a position to move to america for a long enough period to fully experience the lifestyle and then come back and report to you in a time period for it to be relevant so..

I can get a job in a day easily, if I devote myself to it.
My rent is $400 a month, which includes utilities. I don't live in a nice place but there are much shitter places out there.
I have never been mugged or threatened with violence on the street; nor do I worry about such things.
Almost everyone is friendly. People are courteous and helpful.
The cultural diversity creates a interesting atmosphere where you never really know what to expect.
Obviously if you live in the country things are different. But that is how life is in Houston

I think thats a great way to look at it most Americans judge you on your character not your race or religion like most people overseas do. It is what makes a us a great nation as opposed to a good one.

myself as an example. I am a descendant of scotsirish immigrants who came here during the 1750s and 1920s. I am a ginger, but because of my location I am fluent in Spanish and am in fact 2 years away from teaching spanish at the university level. Nevertheless, most hispanic people do not show signs of surprise when I begin to speak Spanish. Here people are more accustomed to atypical happenstances, and I feel more accommodating of them. I would, for example, have a harder time finding a job as a Spanish teacher in England because of my appearance than I do here.

General tip for you to consider before thinking you could never relocate to go live in "paradise," locations such as Hawaii, the Caribbean, the French Riviera, and so on: Anywhere that has resorts has nearby communities that can support the service workers who staff them-- if you have some change and can appreciate the finer PARTS of life instead of the finer THINGS in life, nowhere is out of bounds.
