Pressure cooking jars AFTER they are birthed?
    #18746617 - 08/23/13 10:34 AM (10 years, 5 months ago)

I was curious how, if I can, pressure cook my empty jars after they have been used.. I wouldn't think I can just throw empty jars in there because it would cause them to break.. Put water in them or something.. 1 of the jars was contamed so I would really like to PC them? Any advice, thoughts?

i've done empty jar PC cycles, no crack, why do you think that? i might just got lucky.

you can clean with bleach and wash them with soap and water and i think you can use them this way w/o PC, but yeah PC wouldnt harm, just that you are killing everyting inside when sterilize so ii think its overkill.

GL buddy.

Wash em with warm soapy water, dry, and re-use.

They'll get PC'd again when they are loaded with your cakes.

The mold will not be twice as dead if you PC before and after
