I don't know the right english name of these rose-looking papaver somniferum but in my language there are name for them..

They should have some potency and my knowledge says they are subspecies of papaver somniferum with same alkaloid spectrum but amount of alkaloids is unknown but they are just different flower pedals form papaver somniferums afaik

Buy'd similar papaver from local private person sold them as this form but they appears to be regular, I was ripped off, ha-ha.. Imma foolish :goat:

dude I think it's cool you learned english on your own, I always figured you are Scandinavian...

I heard the chic and hen variety are pretty good in potency but I have never tried them

Here are some pics for viewing pleasure! The pinkish purple ones all ready gave several beautiful arrangements. I think they are a type of tazzies.

The white have a few pods that are still ripening due to being planted later, no arrangements yet
Heard they were white cloud, possible Persian.

No poppies were injured during these pictures, and also no illegal activity was committed at any time.

Have to google this..

I mean't peony poppy what this form of flower it is.

Garden enthusiast will call it various names in my language, sometimes just a poppy plant, sometimes who know what.. I have seen in different areas of there, plants has totally different names from times when they has been just grown to ornament without knowing the name so I think people has invented their own names like for this poppy.

Actually there is official name for peony poppy(googled) here but I have head lots of various names for that form of pedals.

I have a black strain that has both normal and peony flowers. Each plant will only produce one type of flower though.

I actually now tested opium tea but pods was very small.. They was growing as a weed in the greenhouse cause I need to produce seeds from these poppies..

Just hard to say cause I use buprenorphine as pain relief so doesn't felt the kick from opiates as I was expecting but some effects there was in the tea.

I accinetally sow too much seeds in one place so there was lots of poppies in small area and they were small plants so pods was need like 30-50 to one dose.

(I know should not talk about doses)

Atleast I have got seeds to next summer what was my purpose of growing poppies as weed along edible plants in greenhouse. :strokebeard: ..they cannot flourish without greenhouse there, frosts comes before these have time to produce seeds. Tested at summer 2012.

I have two or maybe three different colors from white pink and red spectrums. Don't know how mixed seed strain I have.

I took these pics somewhere at summer.

Can these plants cross pollinate if they are just growing there without human does anything? ..I don't know much of poppies than how they have to sow and they are very small and suddenly big plants.

Yes they can. Insects will do the job if humans don't. It's a good idea to sow different varieties a few weeks apart so they don't all flower at once, which stops any from cross pollinating.

Pics are looking good, love them deep purple ones!
HAve you had a chance to test them out?

What type of effect would the cross pollinating do? change colors i'm guessing?

There has been harvested pod for tea.

There comes a little bitter and dark tea from pods but I have now seeds from various plants there.

Poppies doesn't seems to hold on up in greenhouse and there was a too much space for them so after harvesting first seed pods they was branching the second pach of seedpods but they were smaller but estimated equal mass amount to first harvest.

My harvest was very poor cause I have not pay attention for them much, they have some kick, give cup of tea to person yesterday who doesn't have tolerance whatsoever and he said small amount of small old small seedpods was gived the effect..

Just find out my self even I have buprenorphine on scribe from doctor that there is some kick but buprenorphin will block the opiates so I can't say my self.

If the pods is smaller they are as potent, amount of pods needs to be tens or hundred. Pod size is like finger tip after I harvest first pods and they started to branch offshoots and new flowers.

I have known I have real papaver but getting the pods big needs space, these was just there cause I need something to attract bees and so on..

Next summer I know more and not sow seeds more away from each other to achieve actually "normal size" pods what these grows like 90% of them.. Rest 10% of pods was about +1inch regular size, all of them was very very small but still have alkaloids and I used pods after they were starting to get certain type of color and also tested it by pucture, when there was no leak of opium from old pot I harvest it..

I have mixed form originally from netherlands and form originally from northern plant cultivator private person, she was not a commercial one but sold seeds of regular papaver somniferum.. I should have got peony poppy but there was non of them.. In two years of these strain I have grown never seen a pedals peony-like and I think they are now mixed if there is anymore a genetic of peony poppy. I think if they are cross pollinated and probably are, the flower appearance and growth style changes and vary lots from seed to seed.. Next summer I totally grow big poppies where pods are big cause seed amount inside is big too. My poppies was like a bonsai growth small plants fighting from the space with weed plants, cucumber, tomato and everything what there was on the ground.

Actually there where was tomato plants lots, I sow poppies lots to the side of them and now there is none of weed plants cause poppies has shade the whole area down there and pods has grown up from middle of tomato plants.

Uploaded pics from second day of July moar. One pic shows there is TOO much of poppies sown to one place. Also a typical spider to my climate hunting for pray at the bottom side of cucumber leaf. Also poppies has given nice "bush" of weeds where they can hunt and thrive cause when they were turned to look soil surface, there was totally place full of spider webs taking care of plant eating bastards.

One picture is easy to see where is growing tomato that there where is space poppies comes and thrive and keep weeds out from there with shade.

Like these poppies pics taken at early july, they love being at the corner of greenhouse and they fill the empty space sowed originally near the tomato plants what were bigger when poppies was still a seed.
