The bliss of ignorance
    #18743780 - 08/22/13 06:42 PM (10 years, 5 months ago)

Ignorance is bliss. This statement has kinda always made sense to me. I mean, you never see a dog depressed about not knowing what will happen after it dies. You never see a squirrel commit suicide cause the other squirrels didn't like it.

I used to have an uncle that was 43 and had the mind of a 3 year old. Happy as can be coloring in his coloring book and watching disney jr. not a single care or worry in the world. How I envied that...

What do you think you would prefer? Do you enjoy not knowing why or how life is what it is, or would you rather chase your tail all day? My vote it for the tail.
what would you prefer?
You may choose only one

If I have the choice, obviously happiness.  But practically speaking this is impossible so in reality I choose the quest for knowledge on the assumption that although I might not be completely happy, I can at least learn how to make myself a little happier than I was.

:manofapproval:

Unrealistic questions like that always strike me as a form of self-torture or expression of self-pity, etc.
