I was referring to the picture of Perry Mason, who is most certainly fictional.

That being said, how can a person who 'accidentally' shoots another bear no responsibility and oftentimes get off Scott-free?
When growing up my high school football coach was hunting in the woods and was 'accidentally' mistaken for a deer wearing bright orange and shot to death. A while back some famous rapper 'accidentally' shot his chauffeur to death while driving in a car. Acquitted - really?
I don't get how these can be non-crimes even if there was no intent. Where is the responsibility?
I don't think they should be crimes if they are accidents. That's what civil suits are for, not criminal penalties.
so your saying if anyone wants to get away with murder just fake it as an accident????

The police are not so stupid. My point is that the degree of negligence and recklessness needs to be assessed. Let's take the case of a hunter in the woods with a high caliber hunting rifle. Let's call it a .338 Winchester Magnum just to stave off any arguments about caliber concerns. Let's imagine hunter "A" sees some foiliage rustling 200 yards away and sends a bullet without visual confirmation of a deer or elk. In actuality, he strikes a fellow hunter who was starting to climb up into a deer blind. Now let's imagine hunter "B" who visually confirms an elk is present, but his shot misses and kills a fellow hunter who was in the wrong place 100 yards downrange from the elk.
Has a crime been committed in either case? I'm not going to weigh in quite yet, as I want to see what you all think.

if I was a judge I would give the man 10 years in prison , with parole in 2.. and I would tell him 2 years is not a bad price to pay for taking a mans life...
if I accidently kill someone some time is the least I deserve not only did I end someones life but also an entire family who might depend on said person.

I certainly know where you are coming from, but in the case of domestic violence disputes, sometimes the one at the receiving end of the violence is so broken that they don't want to lose their partner to jail even though their partner is abusing them.
100% Agree.
