Co-worker wants to fight.
    #18743281 - 08/22/13 04:40 PM (10 years, 5 months ago)

Long story short, this guy always tried to make fun of me like if we were still in high school. Finally I started cracking jokes back at him and mine were better, enough that at one point he just shut up.

After that he'd always just stare me down and say shit under his breath that I couldn't figure out.

Then one time I was driving home and he lives in my area so I ended up behind him at a red light, we turned and I then turn into the back alley of a shopping center to take a short cut home and he followed me into it then turned around. (dont know wtf for)

So today im getting back from my lunch and hes by his car smoking and just staring at me so I knod my head (like saying whats up) and BAMN! he just starts talking shit that hes trying to fight me and that we should walk down the st so we could fight (like a fucking child) and that supposedly I talk shit and dont back it up?

point is dude isnt worth my time to talk shit about him or let alone fight him so what in the flying fuck.

also, we work for chinese and even if i told someone, theyd just tell him something and itll prob make matters worse.

I like my job so im not trying to quit cause of him.

Fucking lame, killing my my muthafuckin tuesday vibe.

Had a similar issue the other day. This random dude on the street kept harassing me for no damn reason. I'm all about the good vibes ya know? Unfortunately I kept running into him. I decided that the next time he starts shit I'm gonna go into a handstand and boot his ass to the next millennium. I'm not one for violence, but some people only respond to such. (I have a decent amount of experience with various martial arts, just been a good while so I'm all floppy and shit haha) anyway, honestly if you can ignore him, do so. If not, let him throw the first punch. He seems like the type to narc after some stupid shit he started. GL bro

My guess is that not fighting him he's going to see it as a sign of weakness and things will only get worse. Sure you aren't just afraid to fight him? Could come to that whether you want it to or not. If you're not afraid of him and think you could take him down, might be easier and quicker to just do it.

Im just not a fighter, I prob can take him though but I dont want to
because even if I kicked his ass its just going to make things worse
in the long run cause Ill still see him everyday.

This guy is scum, a while back he took a pic of a co worker taking a shit (i know right) and posted it online, the other guy threatened to kick his ass, sue him, and possibly sue the company for not handling
the sexual harassment. Company owner ended up paying him off to quit
and keeping the guy that now wants to fight me.

Hes not anyone big here either, just a sales rep but chinese people
dont know how to handle shit and the whole company is ran by em

I'd probably say, "if you don't have the nuts to swing on me right here at work you aren't worth my time."

Or maybe, "Ok, but just know that after I knock you out I'm going to rape your man-pussy full force, so you might want to lube up before you swing. If you're lucky I won't pee on you when I'm done."

I like fighting, but if someone told me that last paragraph with a straight face I would definitely back down, even if I was 98% sure that I would win.

I'm not really a fighter either.. I'm not sure what to tell you, I just speak from experience and not fighting, when someone is just itching to have a go at you, usually just makes things worse. You become an easy target for them to feel bigger and better about themselves. I try like hell to diffuse situations and I'm not even sure why. I have a high tolerance for pain, so it's not like I'm afraid to get hurt. I guess I was just taught there's a better way.

Sometimes though, you just have to fight. There are a couple of times in my life that when I look back on it now, I wish I just would've fought them and got it over with. They were practically foaming at the mouth to fight me and I refused, things just got worse. I know in the future if someone is that ready to fight and they just aren't going to take no for an answer, I'll oblige them.

and if he kicks my ass, then he'll prob continue to talk shit.

Tell him to put his money where his mouth his and bet him $500 bucks you'll whoop him. Meet him in a back alley, taze his dumb ass, and take his money.
Or you could ignore his idiotic high school bullying and walk away. He'll self destruct eventually.

The worst thing you can do is psych yourself out that he's some tweaker badass who will continuously fuck with you even after a fight. 99% of the time this simply isn't true, when someone gets their ass beat they move on and don't even want to acknowledge that it happened.

The guy already got butt-hurt because he's not used to people talking shit back to him, I bet you anything he's not used to people standing up to him physically either.

Go the psychopath route. He obviously doesn't fear losing a fight, but I bet you he fears losing his anal virginity to man rape. Plus if you act weird/excited about it, he will start to wonder if you're just gonna taze and cornhole him or something.

The only other option I can see is offering him a joint sesh and then telling him, I only talked shit to you because you were talking it to me. If you want to make a truce and not talk shit about each other, I'm down, but I'm not gonna let you punk me if you try.

Fighting is usually pointless.. It's not always so. Something tells me that your coworker is just a douche bag bully type who needs to lord over others to feel good about himself.. I'm almost positive of that fact by your description of him. People like that go after weak targets. By not fighting when he's talking about wanting to, you're reinforcing the fact that he can say/do whatever he wants cuz you're not going to do anything about it. People who fight back aren't worth it when he could just find someone else who won't fight back. So win or lose, he sees you're not just going to take this stupid shit. Get in his face tell him to do something then and there or shut the fuck up for good because you're tired of hearing him talk. I would be willing to bet money on the fact that he just talks more shit and then walks away. There is a remote chance he will actually do something, in which case don't waste time, from the first punch he throws, just go for it. Aim for the jaw or nose if possible.

That's my honest advice and honestly what I'd do. Because I can almost guarantee the longer you don't do anything while he's sitting there talking about wanting to start something, the worse he's going to get with it.

Well if he confronts me like that again then I guess ill go with it and try to fight him haha if i win, i win but im sure if i won he'd do something else after being humiliated, if i lose, then i lose but then maybe he'll quit fucking around..... but if i fight him and he wins
and then continues his bs then im blaming you guys haha jk

its weird cause we've even smoked together before he offered me his
blunt when i seen him smoking by his car.

i know for a fact someone here tried to make it seem like i was talking shit about him, thats how most of  the people here are.

See how pointless anger,rage is

Accept and forgive instead, because it is the only thing that makes you feel good

Anger gives more anger, frustration, fear, worries etc.

Tell a superior about it and have it formally recorded before anything happens, that way your covered as you have evidence he had been harassing you over a period of time.

Let your manager or someone similar know about it and you could even set him up to get caught red handed if it's something he does every time he sees you.  Just get a senior person to eavesdrop and catch him out.

Fighting him is too risky, even if you win the fight you could lose your job. Worst case scenario you fight, you lose and he even spins enough bullshit to get you landed with the blame.

OP beat his ass. If you don't he'd going to talk shit because he thinks you backed down. Just tell him you want to talk to him after work, and just straight deck him right between the eyes. No words just a clock. Then tackle him and give him a few clocks. If you want to take it up another level, start dissecting him and steal his organs for black market selling

I;m thinking that if you really don't want to fight him then don't unless your defending yourself. When he talks shit to you, don't acknowledge it what so ever. When you see him, say whats up to him verbally like nothing ever happened, not in a pussy way but in a way that makes you the bigger man, just say whats up and ask how he's doing then go on with your business. Just don't acknowledge his shit at all, watch your back and be prepared for worst case scenario.

Are you leaving anything out OP ?

If you are into fighting (which it sounds like you aren't) then do it. If you don't like fighting and it makes you nervous etc then just forget about this guy and outsmart him in other ways. If he was going to try to beat you up then he would have done it. He is just trying to punk you. Just let it go, no one cares and for all you know he has HIV and if you exchange blows you might end up with it
