Likely P. Cubensis Just need to be sure. Good Pics! * 1
    #18743190 - 08/22/13 04:20 PM (10 years, 6 months ago)

This is the first time I've ever searched and found wild mushrooms . I was just out for my normal jog (which happens to be next to a pasture) and saw a few mushrooms that were definitely not cubes, but not 10 feet away I saw a few of these bad boys. Searched for around an hour and managed to find all that you see here. I'm almost certain these are cubes, but being as this is the first time I've ever found any, I figured I'd feel safer being sure about it. I left all of the pins and young mushrooms so hopefully more will be growing within the next few weeks, Thumbs up

Habitat:
Found in a pasture, on and around poop.

Gills:
Some are dark purple, some are light brown. (im guessing no spores, but they still bruise blue.)

Stem:
Bruises blue, hollow, has ring close to the stem

Cap:
Shown in picture

Spore print color:
Dark purple

Bruising:
blue of course.

Other information:
The only concern I have is that the gills on some don't have any spores and are light brown.

I would double check the two with the red pigment in the first pic also the old black one. Everything else looks good.

I think the two you are referring to are just covered in spores, it rubs off fairly easily.

I had been searching for around a year by looking into the pasture to see if I could spot any, I haven't even bothered to look for the past month or so because I had given up. today just happened to be my lucky day I guess.

Yes. I just want you to be sure. If the meet all the specs (found in manure or manure rich soil, blue bruising etc.) It just hard for me to say without holding them in my hand. The three I mentioned earlier that is. Everything else looks great!

i dont know where you are located but the two red caps color and form does look somewhat off. almost like a russula cap. i have seen non actives living happily in a cluster of actives before.

The black ones IMO are just spores all over em. I left my first grow unattended too long and the same thing happened. It was terrifying for a noob lol. Thought it was all contam. Nooby me just tossed em. :/ what a waste.

I'm located in Northeast Alabama. I checked those again and they are white and brown capped like the rest of them, I believe its just spores. Hopefully lol.

You good meng  let us know how potent those suckers are haha. Don't go eatin it all in one bite. Few people want to trip for longer than the prescribed time lol.

Just thought of this. Some warrior friends I have always say if you're unsure about things like wild berries and stuff, start by rubbing some on your lips, then wait an hour or so. If nothing happens, but it in your mouth and wait again. Then nome a small amount, wait again. Once you're feelin safe, CRAM THOSE FUCKERS DOWN. Lol GL

Will do . A few friends of mine are eager to try them with me. Im letting them dry out right now, I have them sitting infront of an AC unit with it turned to the "Fan only" option. It would be nice to have a dehydrator.

the red pigment is just spores from the cap, they are all cubes. Enjoy your trip...

Doesn't work like that for mushrooms though. You won't be able to tell from that whether they are poisonous or not.
