you really are that obtuse, Karzai, and Nouri Maliki are two governments we have specifically put into power and they both run off constitutions that implement sharia law. In fact in Iraq we threw out a secular government ran by the Baath party.
No I don't prove your point, their are no absolutes, not every person who supports sharia is a nutcase just like how not every Catholic eats fish, every jew wants money. but complex situations need to broken down for simpletons like you, they need to see a definitve black & white of who are "good" guys and who are "bad" guys, you will find its a bit more complicated then that.

Sharia is by definition extremism. Wanting money and eating fish yourself is in no way extreme nor does it evince a desire to control other people.
Why do you hate women?

Yea it is a extreme form of justice, When militants under MUJAO (Movement for Oneness and Jihad in West Africa) Took over areas of northern Mali they instituted a brutal sharia law, people were brutalized for everything from listening to western music to men not growing a full beard. The laws are cherry picked by the asshole jihadis on what they enforce, but its all about how its implemented. Their are many modern Arabic states that have state constitutions based on sharia law. CFR has a good write up on the negative and positive impacts of sharia, whether it can coexist in a democratic nature or not. I don't support sharia law, but also don't understand enough of it to blindly hate it, id rather seek knowledge of something I don't understand then to hate it I dunno.
Why do you hate things you don't understand Zappa? I know my wife might hate me when I don't give her my credit card haha, as far as hating all women I don't think so, does everything have to be so absolute with you? http://www.cfr.org/religion/islam-governing-under-sharia/p8034

What is Sharia?
Also meaning "path" in Arabic, sharia guides all aspects of Muslim life, including daily routines, familial and religious obligations, and financial dealings.
I have no problem with people who willingly choose to follow this in their personal lives but when it is imposed on all by a government with a gun and a club that is totalitarian extremism.
I don't know why you defend it. Why do you hate women?

Zappa, while reading this thread, I just wanted your opinion on something. Do you think that your money gives you power over people? By the way, my applause was in support of your post earlier in the thread.

What power do you think I have? I don't even have power over my own earnings. I certainly don't have power over my wife or children. I don't donate to political campaigns, they don't give a fuck what I think in NY anyway, and I don't have a huge bank account. I have 3 children in college. We make a 1 percenter amount of money at this stage of our lives, the government takes almost half of it and we have bills from the aforementioned progeny. Soon we will be rid of the progeny bills, I hope, but the government is going to fuck us until we die. I can assure you that I do not think I have power over other people and wouldn't exercise it if I did. I want to be left alone and am quite willing to generally grant others the same courtesy.
I knew what the applause was for.

Alright, thanks. I was just wondering, and have a lot more respect for you now, knowing that. I saw in the "Get to know you" (I believe that's what it was called) thread in political discussion a while back, that you had told people about yourself and you were began a construction company in Moorhead, if I remember right. From that, and from your posts, I gathered that you make enough income per year to be punished by taxes for it. I was just wondering about your personal opinion. Lots of wealthy families from my area of MN have come across their wealth through oil drilling and construction, though they don't like to stay out of people's business as much as it appears you do. Edit: Ah, actually it was Buffalo, wasn't it? Buffalo, NY. That makes a lot more sense now.
