Let's start by saying this is a question out of ignorance. Not stupidity. So please, no stupid answers.
I came across this site while browsing for synthetic filter discs.
tisch media filters
Now I know everyone uses synthetic. Most of those filters are synthetic. I've been told to not use filter paper because the cellulose is mold food.
Can someone please help me? I'm looking for sfd's And obviously the cheaper the better. But I do not want to lose quality due to cost.

Why not just look at the sponsors? They all sell the appropriate filter discs.
Filter paper is unacceptable. It is too thin and will not hold up to much of anything after a PC cycle.
Use filter paper for filtering chemicals. You want SFDs for mushroom cultivation, they look like this:

They are about an 1/8" thick I would estimate. I did draw the circles on that in case you wonder why you can't find that specific look
They are made to be PC'd over and over again.

I know, and thank you frank.
Did you check out the link?
what synthetic compound makes the filter? What type of filter is it?
I've found media filters, many different compounds, many different ratings.
Plus I feel like sfd's should be less than 1dollar a pop. I'm looking foreither a box or a case. I find bulk purchases save money and give opportunity to make some.

I've used that site before to purchase my Whatman filters. Just make sure that the filters are .22 microns & they'll work.

I use Synthetic Filter Disks. They're on that site. .22 is preferred, but .3 should work.
