Best PC game with controller support?

Hello Pub, I need your help with this first world problem. I'm sick at home this evening and am looking for an entertaining game to pass my time with. However, I left my mouse at the office and am thus only able to play via Xbox controller. Any cool games you could suggest I pick up to play over the weekend? Should be something in the 3rd person genre, since any FPS pretty much requires a mouse for my hands.
Thanks for any suggestions!

I'm not familiar with that one, not really too big of a gamer myself but I know all the GTA 3 era ones supported controllers. I guess the games most likely to have controller support would be ones that were released for both PC and consoles.

Skyrim comes to mind, pretty much any Bethesda game since Morrowind.. Including Fallout 3 an Oblivion. You kind of need mods to make em work well in 3rd person, which isn't too much trouble really.

Yeah Dolphin is awesome, the games look better than on the original systems because the resolutions can be as high as you want.

You need a hella good computer though, Wind Waker barely runs for me, comps only a year old :c Only Animal Crossing seems to run at full speed.

It's a 3d rendering computer Run's Skyrim on max with graphics mods. Won't run Smash Bros on Emulator.

Weird, my computer is nothing too fancy and it runs the GC versions of Wind Waker and Twilight Princess playably at 1080 resolution just with the on-chip video. It's an AMD A10-5800K APU.

You must be smoking crack. If your PC can run Skyrim on max with graphics mods, and can't run your emulator games properly, that's not because of your computer not being good enough. Most likely a driver issue /some settings / issue with the emulator itself.. but certainly not because your PC is "not good enough". Any PC built in the last 10 years should run just about any emulator fine

I didn't say ""Not good enough"".. Ps2 emulator barely runs right, Dolphin runs like shit. That's just how it is. I haven't played a game on either that really runs correctly, Id rather just buy the consoles.

I'd say portal 2
It's a nice game to explore and you don't have to go all crazy about the controls.

You don't seem to understand.
Skyrim with mods is one of the more GPU demanding games out there. Emulators use about 1/30th of the resources. Period. I will say again. If your emulators do not run right, but GPU demanding games do, it is a setting / driver /software issue. Not your computer.
You do not need a "hella awesome" computer to run emulator games. My shitty laptop from 2007 can run Ps2 AND dolphin emulator games no problem.

Shroomism has been to japan, he knows computers, the man basically has robots in his veins. He knows whats up, it is most definitely just an issue with how your computer is managing the resources.

"But dad can I go out and play?"

Dude, you need to start them out on Atari. Then they learn to use their imagination. After a bit of that then you can progress upwards into the better looking games.
