Its a mango tree purchased at lowes. Long slender. Similar to avocado.
Richard is as old as my habit. 8 yrs old. He has taken off since bei g I. The ground but fertilizing should have been mytop priority and it wasnt. He is gonna recover nicely though.

its just a regular old shelf set purchased from lowes. I put the plastic because I dont have rain hutters and my cacti get soaked.

Yeah it's weird since there doesn't appear to be any areoles but I have heard they pup regardless once the top is chopped off.

I put the the plastic sheeting so it wouldn't get soaked. I just cut my pomegranate tree to get more light in. if its too much light I will most likely put the shade cloth back on. I don't think it will be too much of a problem.

So you give them some direct sun there when you trim the tree, right?
I am trying to figure out what is better, little sun and direct, or a lot and 50% cloth, with both situations i am taking as default that when there is not direct sun you have good indirect light.

I've done both. Full sun with shade cloth i s definitely better. But I lve to experiment with different methods.
I tried full sun once and killed abunch of lophs. Wont ever do that again.

This kratom clone has bigger leaves than my in ground. Which leads me to believe that shaded plants will produce bigger leaves than full sun plants.
Just a little tidbit of useless info.

Thats so weird, all my plants except succulent and cacti, seems they prefer as much sun as possible! The plants they are in shade (from trees) they are a lot smaller and not that happy. However when the sun is ''burning'' here is better they had some kind of cloth maximum 50% shade though. That is happening 1 month per year, i never put a shade cloth on plants, though i can see from other growers it works pretty well.
P.S. Sorry if i ruin your thread..
