Why is the world currently and historically completely fucked up?

Just looking for people's opinions/theories on why the world and history are like they are when the default human nature is "good" or most people you meet are good.
I personally think humanity has completely lost touch with God, which is consciousness. If we knew we were God, we would do a lot better for ourselves. There is also a lack of consciousness quality in society. People go for the mediocre and they don't explore other aspects of themselves and so live mediocre lives. Eventually a mediocre population is going to become sick of itself. Boredom makes for hostility, and crappy people make crappy parents, and crappy childhoods make serial killers, gangsters, etc.
Humanity is so, so sick. To kill another human being takes a very high level of mental illness, and it happens all the time. We are completely out of touch with our good nature.
What's your take?

I don't think it's mental illness necessarily that is required to kill another human being.
I think ignorance of perspective is another predeterminate to murder. and i think you summed that lack of perspective up in the sentence i underlined.

Because you're in a crappy mood or something, I dunno.
When has this world ever not been fucked up? It's a piece of dust from a dead star, bombarded constantly with solar and cosmic rays. The earth itself is in constant upheaval, struggling against itself as it pushes up new mountains and empties new oceans, hurdling through space at unimaginable speed. It's made of rarefied chaos. Order and stability were never the norm here.

Its not fucked up, this is how its supposed to be, its just how humans perceive things, nothing we think really matters, the fucked up things that you see happening are required in the big scale of things.

Faulty assumption. I'd say there really is no default human nature--we have both the inclination to do good and the inclination to do evil and any attempt to analyze us that ignores either of these fundamental aspects of our character is flawed from the get-go.

Nah, actually murder is pretty damn natural. You just have to look at one of our closest relatives in the animal kingdom, the chimpanzees: they practice intertribal warfare, rape, torture (sometimes they flay other chimpanzees encroaching on their territory), and of course, murder. It's only recently that society has been somewhat successful at training us into thinking that murder in general is a bad thing... naturally, it's okay if the other human is wearing another country's uniform or is sitting on death row.

I blame the fact that I am currently not the sole world dictator. Clearly the world would cease to be so completely and totally fucked up if I were given absolute power over y'all puny mortals.
I wear the flag of a country that never existed and the uniform of its glorious army, spreading forth the dominion of the invincible empire of me.

Because life is merely a trial of what works best for the future. Whether it be chemical replication of Protozoa through nitrogen amide chain reactions, or the quest for truth in religion, government, or education, THERE WILL BE MANY DEVASTATING UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCES through events in time.
In the end, we're each stuck in the cave of our minds, only to see the outlines of shadows of what lies outside.

Pretty trippy when you apply the principle of natural selection to ideas and concepts like capitalism or all of the other isms. I suppose what works best will survive and mutate into something more effective in future.
