So I want to start off by saying that I am new to this community. I really liked the way you guys run this site and I have "lurked" since probably my freshman year of high school (now sophomore in college). So thanks for having me!
Anyways, I have been having a bit of trouble finding any mushrooms. I have never tripped before short of some "acid" that made my tongue numb and bitter and made my thoughts weird with no visuals. I now want to try mushrooms. It seems nobody in my town has a connection and finding them wild seems very difficult. I found about 10 grams of powder of cubensis on a certain place which I'm sure we do not speak of. Would this be the most viable option?
I realize growing them myself would be best as well as make a bond with the fungus but it is not an option (live with both my mother and another family in the same home). Then my next safe bet would be purchasing from someone trusted. Hah, new state and I know nobody. Then hunting would be possible if it weren't so damn hard! I have absolutely no idea where I'm looking, and the strain that grows here is supposed to be near trees, but I can't find any after the storms. I don't know the first area to check.
Would going to the online shop be the best option? I'm sorry if I had broken any rules posting here. I tried my best to find a guideline of posting but found none.

besides telling you to grow em, or to figure out how to find them in the wild no one is going to tell you where to buy em

That's pretty much the point of hunting for them. Nobody said it's easy, but you get no end of satisfaction from it. And while the legality of eating a wild mushroom you found is questionable (you could have eaten it by mistake), trading them is unambiguously illegal.

You're probably not going to find too much in Arizona because it's so dry. I'm assuming you're talking about foraging for them. Try this:
