It's not. Chelsea Manning's struggle with her gender is well documented and I doubt she will receive any special treatment for it in military prison. She is being held in the men's section regardless.
I'm amazed by the news, all the same, and by her relentless bravery. Her choices are not being motivated by self-interest. She could have had her sentence drastically shortened if she had pleaded guilty and agreed to testify against Julian Assange, but she and her values are made of much stronger stuff. I have my own reasons for being inspired but IMHO she is a champion of our generation and of all Americans.

Testify against Assange for what? And who elected him to decide what is and is not acceptable state secrecy. The idiot released 700,000 documents. Do you think he reviewed them?
I don't give two shits about the criminal's gender issues.

I knew he was never going to walk away from the 'crimes' against him, but 35 years is unbelievable! Murderers, rapists and sex offenders are just a few of the criminals out there that are handed down sentences far less than what Bradley Manning has been given, and for what? Showing the transparency of the american government and the actions that it commits.
I'm sorry but reading stories like this just makes me both terribly angry and sad at the same time. In my eyes, someone like Bradley Manning should be treated not like a criminal, but like a hero!
that's democracy for you. Kill some kids in van from a helicopter "they are unloading weapons and this guy on the ground is picking up a weapon" no big deal.
Report it though.....

I don't give two shits about Trayvon Martin. If people aren't going to protest this fine, protest Trayvon Martin. I guarantee you no one is protesting shit.
People are lucky there was a trial for Zimmerman. Fuck... you in the middle east, some American blows your face off right in the streets in front of a bunch of kids. Want justice? Good luck with that

zig, there is nothing I can say that hasn't already been said but I'll sum it up anyway: war crimes committed by American troops are still war crimes. The people deserve to know and the perpetrators deserve to be held to the same degree of scrutiny and accountability that has been reserved for Manning. The military's first responsibility is to the American people.
You are not expected to give any number of shits, I know better than that.

No. Somebody who uses sloppy English would have used those pronouns, and a true moonbat would have used goofy made-up pronouns like "zhe" or "hir".

I'm not terribly surprised considering what he was convicted of. With all the charges, 35 years is actually pretty good for him. Good thing for him he didn't get aiding the enemy too. Still a fuck ton though.
