Cactus similar to peyote?

Is there a type of cacti that is very similar to lophophora williamsii? Preferably one that's not active.
I'm looking for similarities in care, not necessarily appearance. As the goal of this is to practice for when I some day live in the UK where I could legally start a peyote project.
I'd rather fuck up on the practice species than the real deal. Catch my drift? And I could practice grafting on them too! that would be a real asset.

Similar in which way? This is a very vague question.
Similar in appearance, growth habits, i mean what?

I think astrophytum asterias are pretty similar in terms of care, growth rate, grafting etc. Some of the "super kabuto" strains look awesome as well, you could practice growing from seed and grafting on those, or just order some LW seeds online and grow them illegally in the states. They're pretty cheap.

Had you seen that line? similar in growth habits, general care, similar shape would be kinda nice but not a priority.

After looking up astrophytum asterias, I realized I already have one that I traded for a while back in seed form. Germinated a while ago, still pretty tiny though.
Thank you for the suggestion, I will definitely take special care of that one.
I'm a little too nervous to order the seeds myself, or do illegal things. I've been hoping a magical shroomerite would happen by and trade me seeds under the table...

Sounds like a good question for google!
What about other lophophora?

Lophophora diffusa is very similar, and since it is not active, it's legal to buy and sell. I've purchased some diffusa seeds from a shroomery sponsor with good success.

Astrophytum asterias are beautiful! Check around online and find a nicely speckled cactus that catches your eye.
