Hey Shroomery!
I just wanted to show you what I have been up too. I started some grain jars last week! What do you think? Kinda wispy growth.

I pced for 90mins+ and soaked for 12 hours, 1 hour simmer, 30 min drain and dry.
Heres my current tub!

(Closer)
I don't know really what to say. Some spots of interest.
The brown spot was substrate now being colonized. (Used to be some tiny bacteria growth or metabolites. It has ceased and seems to be disappearing.
MONOTUB Colonizing time: 7-8 days Fruiting time: Day 3 Temperature: 23 degrees Celsius sometimes the AC would turn off causing it to go to 27 degrees during colonization and a bit in fruiting. Substrate: Coir/Verm 4 quartz Coir 1 quart Verm Spawn: Rye Grain (1:1 spawn ratio) Set to field capacity and properly pasteurized at 160F for 60 mins core temp.
I place a small fan in front of the tub and 12/12 6500k daylight schedule
Please let me know what you think and where I can approve. FYI I followed Frank's Teks!

I have a strange feeling too but, no smell, everything is white with a very very very light yellow ting. (High temps?). The substrate started to shrink just within the last few days. I'll closely watch over it.

Been seeing a lot of this...that's a bad bacterial contamination in your tub.
Did your pasteurizing temps get too hot?
Odds are it's from the grains...sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
It looks like these pics I pulled yesterday, this is a contam'd tub with what you have IMO:
