Actually a better question is did you use a clean container and clean dunk water? Did you cover it when soaked it? I mean there isn't much info here, no pics.

After a couple of flushes, your myc can get weak allowing bacteria to get a foot hold. Couple that with a really long soak time.....

When I did cakes, I didn't roll in vermiculite again after the initial flush.

Sorry I tossed it before I took any pics.  But it started to look and smell pretty bad and was seeming more like that green/blue contam (whatever that typical contam is)

Though Nakor420 might be right.  Since the cake was fully colonized I feel there might have been a chance it only penetrated the verm layer and maybe didnt make its way into the cake. 

Either way, I gained some experience and learned a lesson. Lol
