dividing colonies

Would it work to divide a 2 lb colony and placing them into 1lb subtraits?

perhaps at 60% colonization. divided into multiple perhaps one lb bags of coconut coir gypsum ect. substrait

Once it's 100% colonized, you can mix that bag with two quarts of bulk substrate, for sure.  You could go with as many as four quarts without any real fear of contamination.

One quart spawn to one or two quarts substrate is a good ratio, yes.
