Is This A Contam?

Information: PC'ed 4 rye jars. I inoculated two with a tested Clone LC and left the other two untouched. The two untouched have not changed in any way since being removed from the PC. After inoculation, I shook thoroughly, and approximately a day later these specks of white appeared all over the jar. The other inoculated jar is identical in appearance, and not too much has changed since the spots first appeared except that they are larger. I've not had mycelial growth like this before, but I'm not entirely sure it's contaminated either, unless someone has had this happen before.

IMO it's too early to tell honestly. I'd say wait a week and see how it looks man.

Spots look like yeast to me... can't really tell with the pics, but tmethyl has some real good ones you can compare your jars to in the how it should and shouldn't look thread.

looks like you used too much gypsum when soaking your grains to me.
Pictures are not clear enough to tell what is going on.

Then its probably contaminated
Or maybe you didn't rinse out your berries until the water was clear..So you are left with the skin and stuff that flaked off.

I don't rinse. I just add water and throw 'em in the PC for an hour. They never go bad.
It LOOKS like tiny spots of mycelium, when it first germinates, except it's on every single rye berry. So idk. I guess this is yet another wait-and-see scenario?

I'm going with its probably just all the extra crap from not rinsing it.
But yea, pretty much the only way to tell is to let it grow out more and see what happens. Update with pics later and then find out

Seriously I love the feedback but I'm not sure what you mean exactly. I shot this jar up with LC, shook, and a day later I got all these spots.

If you didn't rinse your rye berries then there is usually dust/twigs/dirt/etc that is included with your bag of berries. Therefore all that stuff might be dried up crap that is just in your jar.
If you use an LC and it was contaminated/something during inoculation process, might have caused your jars to turn out the way they are looking.
If its only been a day, I would say let it grow out for a couple more days and then make a judgement. But thats all I can suggest.
Make sense?

Actually no. I've been making jars from the same bag of rye for a few months now, all the same way, and this is a new phenomenon. There are fluffy white specks clinging to all the rye berries, if you couldn't tell from the picture...
It's been a few days since I inoculated. I'll keep waiting I guess to see what happens and I'll update.

Well, nothing seems to be changing . I would love to get another opinion on these jars. Does anyone else have any educated guesses?
