'Was jokin' please don't take offense.

Her guessing green and red for Christmas decorations doesn't seem that crazy, though.

From wiki:" It is believed that the reason why these form constants appear has to do with the way the visual system is organized, and in particular in the mapping between patterns on the retina and the columnar organization of primary visual cortex. Concentric circles in the retina are mapped into parallel lines in visual cortex. Spirals, tunnels, lattices and cobwebs map into lines in different directions. This means that if activation spreads in straight lines within the visual cortex, the experience is equivalent to looking at actual form constants."

Hallucinations from psychedelics are caused by the eye. As far as CEVs go I have no clue...And even if she saw red, how could she describe it. How would that automatically be recognized as red?

Im color blind awell. Rwd/green deficient just like her actually. This is mainly the reason o enjoy tripping so much is because it allows me to see these colors. My mind was blown the first time I tripped being able to see every color in full detail. Definitely is something I'll never forget.

Hell yeah man, thats awesome. so Im beginning to think this is common for people with color deficiencies while tripping? Does it happen every time you trip, and on what psychedelics if you dont mind me asking?

Have you tried doing those number tests while tripping?

"This means that if activation spreads in straight lines within the visual cortex, the experience is equivalent to looking at actual form constants."

This means that the experience comes from the brain and is the same as if the eyes were actually being used.

I actually haven't done the color test tripping surprisingly. But it happens y to me on literally every psych. I've taken, being 25i&c nbomes, metocin, miproci.,lsd, and mushrooms., its way more pronounced on lsd though. That's when it stands out the most, while I'm on LSD. The second most pronounced would be 25c nbome

"Concentric circles in the retina are mapped into parallel lines in visual cortex" Without the eye being shaped and formed the way it is our, visual cortex would not produce these anomalies.

And technically, every experience comes from the brain...so...nice point?

...Then again that paragraph makes less sense to me now than when I originally read it.

Also, OP, sorry, I call almost everyone I don't know "bitch" and it is a terrible habit.

True the structure of the eye is important to the brains ability to process shape based images (like fractals) and she may see nothing if she were totally blind, however a colorblind person lacks only those structures necessary to produce the color that they are missing. So it is likely that it is the brain and not the eyes being stimulated to produce color.

how would the brain stimulate colors it's never recognized? That claim makes no sense at all, your brain doesn't just make up colors, that's rediculous. An if it did then it sure as hell wouldn't be accurate showing greens as green and reds as red. Unless it had some way to do with the eye bring able to replicate these colors to the brain.
This just makes NO sense at all.

Colorblind people probably still have the structures in their brains necessary to see color, it is their eyes that are missing structures.

It's like if the brain had three inputs one for each color but her eyes only have on signal going out so she of course doesn't see them. But the lsd activates parts of the brain independant from what the eyes are actually seeing.

Not to be a negative Nancy, but she wasn't seeing new colors, just color enhancement. If she has red green color blindness, then she lacks the capacity to distinguish between the two because of a physical handicap. I bet if she looked at an apple tree, the apples would blend perfectly with the foliage.

I once felt I had no body when I took DMT. The chemical must have made me leave the room and float to Jupiter, only to come back five minutes later. It's the only explanation.
