Clitopilus prunulus?
    #18730964 - 08/20/13 05:23 AM (10 years, 5 months ago)

Growing in grass under Oak. Often squashed together. Stipes also often off-centre, and almost non existent in some cases.
Salmon spore print.
Smells of something that i can't quite think of, but not a typical mushroomy smell.

Looks like it. Smell is usually distinctly mealy. Never tasted it though.

Looks like it to me as well.
Very strong mealy smell, taste is good, like doughy mushroom goodness, I baked mine on a rock in the middle of the woods, mushrooms seem to hold there flavour good this way and is not masked by any butter, oil, garlic etc. - kind of like dry sautéed fungi.
