Yeah the lights he has now are definitely insufficient. With 4-6 big CFLs it is doable IME. The 42 W bulbs are supposed to be equivalent to 150W of incandescent lighting for reference.

I don't recall specific yields I was getting since it's been a while, but I'd say get as much wattage in there as you can afford (and are able to cool.) Skill and genetics would be factors in yield as well, I'd consider myself a novice with MJ growing. The smaller CFLs do have the advantage of better efficiency from what I understand, but dealing with a lot of fixtures is a hassle.

I'd recommend to check out growery.org, and search around threads on their forums, there is a huge wealth of cultivation info to be found there.

ive heard somewhere its usually around a gram per watt per square meter, dont know how true it is especially when it comes to CFLs but
and try being less of a dick dude, you are growing weed with shitty ass lights, face it....okay you dont have $ for nice ones but dont get butthurt when someone lets you know your set up is jenky and your buds are likely to be as well, also you will get a MUCH better yeild if you put some money into your set up.... maybe a 400w metal halide or HPS...personally i run a 1000w HPS and a 400w metal halide both
use as much real sunlight as possible, that shit is real cheap and your plants will like it WAY more than a few ghetto rigged CFLs, and your plants will probably grow much slower than they would if you had them under a good light
good luck man

I'm not being a dick I was just responding to a smart ass who was being disrespectful.Yeah,I know I need to invest more money but I heard that you can grow successfully without using hps so I thought why not.I cant use sunlight because I live where a lot of people walk around that I don't want seeing it.But it shouldn't matter if you have sunlight on it from what Ive heard as long as you have a good amount of lumens.

no you were a dick, you can grow with cfl's but unless you're skilled (you're not) you arent gonna get a ounce with your first harvest.
go learn the basics before you feel justified to talk shit to 'disrespectful' people that know what they are talking about
