Spider web mold or other contamination?
    #18730178 - 08/19/13 10:27 PM (10 years, 5 months ago)

I've got eight brf cakes in a fruiting chamber with purlite. It's been five days since birth and dunk. No pinning yet, but just tonight I realized this strange cotton like film, web like film, on parts of nearly all the cakes. This is my third go around and I don't remember seeing this in the past.  Could someone please tell me if these cakes are contaminated? I tried to get close up shots for detail.

That looks like myc to me. Cobweb is really grey, this more white than grey. You're good to go

EDIT: Another way to check if it's cobweb is that your cake will be colonized with the cobweb very rapidly so keep an eye on it.
