So, America.... what do you think of Australian politics currently?

I would probably prefer to say that the rest of the world is laughing at australia? Our government is a fucking joke. The 2 party good guy bad guy thing is a fucking circus. Our "leaders" forlack of a better word have bvacked us into a corner where they say "vote for me because he's shit" and basically the entire australian election campaign is a 'he said she said' fucking smear fest. It is a joke. Our government is a goddamned circus. I would like to know what your thoughts on our current election are?
Prisoner#1? What, in all your infinite wisdom, does austalia need. Lord knows you're probably related or qualified to discuss.... but how does the rest of the world see us?
I shake my head, it's embarassing. The australian political scene is a total circus, I mean not to start getting into conspiracy theories but the two people put against each other are total fuckwits. It's litereally giant douche or turd sandwich Backpeddling polititians who transparently spew the most jupped up crap. This campaign literally insults the intelligence of all australians. It is fucking stupid.
so,.... what does the world think about australias election? sorry im fucked on k so im not very eloquent

for serious answer: ours is the same way. so we don't put too much thought to your problems as they are our problems and acknowledgement of your problems would imply acknowledgement of ours, which we refuse to do

Americans who don't think about other countries do this, but yet, the Americans who think about other countries hold this same point of view, yet they don't deny that the international "stage" is of equal interest to them.
how does that even work?

Americans don't care about what's going on in the world.
We have plenty of issues here in the states but the biggest issue of all is bread, circuses, and apathy.
Here are the turning points of life. 1.Spiritual Faith 2.Courage 3.Liberty 4.Abundance 5.Selfishness 6.Complacency 7.Apathy 8.Bondage
And we are basically in the 6th/7th steps.

They can own guns, they just had a buy back program in the 90's to get unwanted guns out of circulation, no one wants to do that here for some reason...
I like how though the rest of the world pretty much has to wait for america to do it first or take away the freedoms of their own people

The other day I was trying to work out which electorate I'm enrolled in, and after contacting the Australian Electoral Commission, I discovered that I've been removed from the electoral roll (due to living overseas too long).
Normally I treat elections pretty seriously, but finding out that I don't have to vote for any of those assclowns was probably the happiest moment of my week.

Think back to the revolutionary war. The Americans went from bondage, to great faith, to courage, to liberty and abundance. Eventually, complacency, apathy, and bondage ensue as generations grow up without the basic understanding of how hard-won that liberty is and once lost, it is rarely if ever regained without a great deal of blood, sweat, and tears.

Australian politics are a fucking joke. Just like American politics but without the wow factor.
I think the biggest difference is American politics is much more like a soap opera or a wrestling, packed full of entertainment and scandal. Everyone knows it's for show, but it's still fun to watch and discuss sometimes.
Australian politics on the other hand are so fucking corrupt and boring that they make little effort to pretend that the working people have any power/influence at all. Something like 80% of the population said no to carbon tax and then the government did it anyway. Basically the attitude is "we know what the people want, but we don't care, deal with it."

in other words, policies that you make/promote have very little effect on my life.

Most American's don't even pay attention to their own politics.

Seriously, think Brave New World / 1984, but in it's infancy.

Yeah Australian politics this year is just beyond a joke. All my friends and family are all looking at each other are like "are they for real?"
everyt debate, interview, press release etc is always just some fucking circular verbal abortion dribbled to fill some columns, and it's realy brought a lot of the bogans out with this whole "stop the boats" . I actually want to leave Australia. I no longer wish to be an australian citizen. I am not a proud australian. This country is retarded, socialogically/politically speaking

Um, not really - some of our politicians love to meddle internationally (current Prime Minister in particular) and we sign up to whatever wars are going on (if America tells us to) regardless of our own interests. Actually, Australia is now back in the UN Security Council too, which doesn't mean much, but it looks good on our resume.

Austraillia? Isn't that the country between whackistan and somaliland which just got recognized as a country? I didn't know austrailliians had internet... That's a joke.
But yeah, as an american, I don't follow non-american politics. Eh, politics in general are such a mess, I don't know why I bother caring about any of them, even domestic. Not like I can make a difference...

I have limited experience with Australian Politics. IMO, AUS should seriously rethink its policy with foreign investors, especially from China. Chinese investors are buying up Major Industries, Farms, Mines, Dairies, and Real Estate at record rates to be directly funneled out of AUS. AUS will be at risk in the future to loosing its own resources and commodities. In addition, will have more political pressure from foreign governments.
This is similar to how the USA is currently being sold out and sold off because of unbalanced trade and US Debt. Our politicians waste so much time on minor issues like weed and gay marriage. Meanwhile, the wealthy Chinese (aka Their Gov't) are/is taking full advantage of the down economy. They're buying up the USA in record numbers. 70% of home purchases in CA are now to mainland Chinese. AUS is similar to US Politics where the government no longer representing the people, but instead the corporations.

As an Australian I think they're both clowns. I enrolled to vote recently (purely to avoid the FINE they fucking send you if you don't enroll to vote) but I think I'll just scribble on it and not tick any boxes. I don't like either parties agenda and the leaders (puppets) of each party are just pathetic. There is constantly ads on TV trying to scare the people out of voting for the other guy. The whole thing is scare campaigns, bunch of fucking clowns.

I feel sorry for Australia because they have to pay a shitload of money for a video game and they censor their shit worse than Germany.
Most countries do not suck nearly as bad as people make em out to be.
In some areas, America really IS freer.

If I where A Australian I would vote for Tony just to get the satisfaction that I was more intelligent than the prime minister . The man is no more retarded than Robert Mugabe , Jacob Zuma or the last few British Prime ministers .I must say it was hard to watch that whole youtube video the best part being where they asked him how his words where took out of context and he just resumed nodding . I honestly don't know anything about Australian politics, but I saw a bit about them on the Daily Show the other day and it was pretty spectacular. I forget the woman's name but she's like Sarah Palin on crack.
